Heat Press Application Guide – DTF Transfers
Follow these steps to achieve the best results with your Direct-to-Film (DTF) transfers.
🔹 Supplies Needed
- Heat press (recommended; not household irons)
- Teflon sheet or parchment paper (for protection)
- Garment of your choice (cotton, polyester, blends, etc.)
🔹 Application Instructions
- Set Your Heat Press
- Temperature: 285–325°F (140–163°C)
- Pressure: Medium to firm (40–60 psi)
- Time: 10–15 seconds
- Pre-Press Garment
- Place the garment on the heat press.
- Pre-press for 2–5 seconds to remove moisture and wrinkles.
- Position Transfer
- Place the DTF transfer face-down on the garment (design side touching fabric, film side on top).
- Use heat-resistant tape if necessary to hold it in place.
- Press Transfer
- Cover with a Teflon sheet or parchment paper.
- Press at the set temp, time, and pressure.
- Peel Film
- Depending on your transfer type:
- Hot Peel: Peel immediately while warm.
- Cold Peel: Allow transfer to fully cool before peeling.
- Depending on your transfer type:
- Final Press (Optional but Recommended)
- Place parchment or Teflon sheet over design.
- Press again for 3-8 seconds to lock in durability and finish.
🔹 Washing & Care Instructions
- Turn garment inside out before washing.
- Machine wash cold, gentle cycle.
- Do not bleach.
- Tumble dry low or hang dry.
- Do not iron directly on the transfer.

- Always test on a sample garment before large production runs.
- Heat press settings may vary slightly depending on your equipment and garment material.
